I'm stuck for a story summary, please can you help?

I'm planning to start posting my dragon story tomorrow. Please could you vote for which,if any of these summaries might encourage you to read the story if you were a casual reader browsing the archives.

Both the first and the second options would draw me in, but I voted for the first one, as it was more succinct, and thus somehow more "mysterious" -- or something! :-)

To be honest, seeing the words "Faramir" and "Aragorn" would probably be enough to make me read it!

I think the above gives TOO much of the plot away. A summary should entice readers without giving too much away.

An unexpected visitor to Gondor threatens much of what Aragorn and Faramir hold dear.

This is better, but it still doesn't lure me in, but then, I'm not much of an Aragorn/Faramir angst reader. ;P

It's good we all have our own favourites as I very rarely read anything with Leglolas or Gimli as I prefer human characters.

I would drop the "much of" and just go with "hold dear." It adds a little more mystery.

I voted for the third, though I like the first almost as well. I don't much like the second-- TMI. I generally speaking prefer shorter and less detailed summaries.
