Blessed Solstice

I have started marking the day myself as the older I get the more I realise what an important day of the year it is when the wheel of the year in the Northern Hemisphere starts to turn towards the light again.
May the Light return and nature reawaken!

I will love the light for it shows me the way, yet I will endure the darkness for it shows me the stars.

As I child I had to go Evensong with my parents and I loved a prayer which began "Lighten our darkness, we beseech Thee."
We need both the light and the darkness. May the darkness whether within or without be lightened as the days gradually lengthen again.

Dec. 25th, 2017 05:57 amI bought a little Santa hat and was quite surprised 3 of the boys agreed to model it,Thomas Leo declined. I don't believe in dressing cats up usually, but all 3 three were happy to try the hat on and Filipos was purring loudly.
