Faramir stood in the doorway watching the rain. How he hated it as a child! He recalled being unable to play outside with Boromir and cancelled walks and picnics.

He liked rain little better when he became a Ranger. He smiled ruefully at memories of tramping through the mud, soaked to the skin.

Everything had changed, now he farmed here in Ithilien. The raindrops gushing from the heavens were a precious gift sent to nourish his growing crops.

Faramir stepped outside. He lifted up his face to the heavens. As the cool water drenched his skin, he laughed for joy.
