Defiance


You think all Men will fear you, as all Men fear death. But I fear you not, foul Nazgûl ! For I am no man and death holds no fears for me! Better by far, to die here now upon the field than to live caged, my life force diminishing, while the walls imprison my restless soul. What is my life but a living death? I glimpsed hope, but it fast faded when he departed. I laugh, for in death you grant me everlasting life in the songs of my people. No man shall kill you, but I Éowyn, a woman!
