We pile the bodies high and I bid Eothain light the pyre. Guthwine felled at least a dozen of the creatures. I rejoice. At last I have avenged our slaughtered herds and heroes. These foul fiends are worse by far than Orcs. They brazenly stalk abroad in daylight, ravaging our land. I shall not rest while one yet roams the Mark! Why would some have me stay my hand? How can I sit idly by and let the women and children’s cries for help go unanswered? Let Wormtongue rant all he pleases, I care not. I shall protect my people.
