Why do Men crave this trinket so? Can it rekindle the light of the Trees or set the stars on fire? Can it create young ones or make the land blossom?
The Ring is old, but I am older. What care I for the struggles of Men and Elves? They come and go while I remain. Ageless, I am.
I have the good earth beneath my feet and the sky above my head. The River daughter’s sweet song soothes my slumbers. I care not for a mere Ring! What could it give me that I do not already have? Nothing!
