If only I had come sooner! What hope had one man against so many?
Ah, Boromir! I remember well, the day you were born. All Gondor rejoiced. Yours is the bitter fate of the warrior: to die far from home and kindred.
Who knows what the future might have brought for us? Would we have become true friends and brothers or would my destiny caused you to bear arms against me?
Would there have been room for both of us in the White City?
Now it matters not. I weep for you. The silver trumpets will never herald your return.
