Waiting

Was it wise to decide to wait here? I know not. My choices have gone ill as late. Are the Rohirrim still men of honour?

The Riders approach, hooves thundering; manes and tails flying in the wind.

Their faces are fair, open and honest, and their horses well cared for.

We are defenceless against the ash spears of the host of men. They appear not to notice we three bedraggled travellers, as they ride by. We could silently slip away unscathed, abandoning our quest. These Riders might help us- or kill us.

I step forward and make our presence known.

Oh, very interesting, I like all the drabbles you've posted today!

Most perceptive. I've always thought that before Aragorn made the present of the three hunters known to Éomer's company, he must have debated with himself if that was a wise move.

Thank you. I'm sure Aragorn knew he was taking a big gamble as the events show.
