I've just been reading "Where the Shadows Lie" as recommended on [livejournal.com profile] mikononyte

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B003Y3BLL2/ref=dp-kindle-redirect?_encoding=UTF8&btkr=1

It is a fun read for Tolkien fans (and also Wagner fans and lovers of Icelandic sagas). The plot is set in Iceland and concerns a possible lost source that inspired Tolkien.

lots of twists and action and a very Tolkienesque ending.

On the subject of books, this one I read years ago as a fan of the Ring cycle, and it is hilariously funny.

What might happen if the Ring of Power fell into the hands of a very ordinary young man.

A must read story for anyone who loves Rangers. Although the story is seen through the eyes of Halbarad's young daughter, Halbarad,Aragorn and the Twins play major roles and are beautifully portrayed.

I'm helping Everleigh edit and can promise that the story is very exciting!

Valiant
By: EverleighBain
The children of the Rangers of the North learn early the duty that so often keeps their fathers away, and their own roles as part of a scattered, diminishing people. But for one wilful daughter, it will take trial and devastation before she finds her place among the Dúnedain, and comes to understand the fealty that binds her father to an uncertain fate.

This is a must read for all Aragorn fans,

https://www.fanfiction.net/s/10087627/1/The-Reins-of-Power

It feels fresh and different, adhering closely to Tolkien but utterly free of all the assumptions most of us make.
lindahoyland: (love Aragorn)
I've just finished reading this wonderful story, one of the best stories I've read in ages(included printed books).
It has everything, noble Aragorn under great duress, h/c and great and highly complex OCs as well as being a fascinating study of Harad.

Ransom by MP brennan
As the son of a poor family in Harad, Hakim thought he knew what to expect out of life. But, when a stranger stumbles onto his land after escaping the Mountains of Shadow, he and his family see their lives upended.

This story has been around for a while, but I only got round to reading it the other day. it is an absolute gem, depicting Aragorn's hardship and the way the Rangers were seen by others.

A must for all Aragorn fans.

I was especially impressed by this story in the Teitho challenge by an author unknown to me

Looking for Boromir
Valante
PG13

When Faramir is lost, who will help him find his way?

This is a rare story indeed, one which focusses on OCS(although canon characters play their part too)and leaves me hungry for more at the end of each chapter. The story provides the reader with much food for thought making a great read.
Last but not least, a short story for fans of Naomi Norvik's Temeraire books
http://community.livejournal.com/ficviendha/31516.html?view=32540#t32540

A delightful short story in which Granby writes to his mother about a dream come true.

http://teitho.waking-vision.com/modules.php?name=News&file=print&sid=553

A new and original twist on a very familiar theme, which succeeds in making it fresh and new.

I'm also loving Virtuella's latest story "If Truth be told" an exciting WIP

Genre(s): General/Adventure
Rating: Rated: T
Summary: Déoric, the newly appointed Chronicler of the Mark, is faced with
new challenges. When he finds that not all is truth that the Eorlingas hold to
be true, will his break with Éomer end his career? Sequel to Measure Of A
Man, but prior reading not required.

I enjoyed reading this story tonight and am sure it will appeal to anyone who likes stories about Aragorn's early days as King and his attempts to befriend Faramir as well as his love for Arwen.

If you enjoy my "Steward and King" stories, you will like this.

Stirrings of Shadow by Fiondil
http://storiesofarda.com/chapterlistview.asp?SID=5257
