I was very fed up during the recent bad weather and decided to cheer myself up by creating a new website for my stories!

http://lindahoyland.yolasite.com/

I liked my freewebs site, but it limited me to 20 pages, which meant I was cramming diverse stories together on the same page.

This site features the latest versions of my stories, a guide to the stories as well as photos, background information and recomendarions.

You can leave feedback and ratings(an excellent way to give an honest opinion of a story, as I'd never know who gave it only one star, LOL)

I invite you all to visit and tell me what you think and what you do or don't like. I shall post a poll in a few days.

You can receive site updates via Twitter if so desired.

http://twitter.com/lindahoyland

I do intend to continue posting at the archives I use at present, but this site should allow me to provide extra content.

As I want my site to be illustrated, is there any clever person, who could make a picture of an actor who looks more like my idea (and Tolkien's of Faramir) into Faramir, by dressing it and creating a graphic of him with Aragorn? I can picture Viggo as Aragorn, but although, I think David Wenham an excellent actor, he is not my idea of Faramir.
I would be most grateful.

I forgot that you could not move chapters up and down on fanfiction.net when posting a revised version of chapter Nine of a "A Time to Reap". I guess it serves me right for posting when half asleep.

I fear some chapters are now missing or out of the right order for the story. I will fix it just as soon as I can.

In the meanwhile, the story is available at
http://www.freewebs.com/lindahoyland/atimetoreap.htm

My apologies for any inconvenience.

I think I have fixed it now. Please tell me if you encounter problems.

I have just posted the final chapter of “A Time to Reap” and with it ends an era which began about years ago with “Shadow and Thought” which much to my surprise became the first of a quartet of linked novels showing the development of Aragorn and Faramir’s relationship.

Tolkien makes it clear that in LOTR that Faramir is drawn towards Aragorn (It seems to be love at first sight for everyone Aragorn meets in the book bar Orcs!) and in an earlier draft used the phase “Love sprang between them”. I have tried to depict a transition from Faramir greatly admiring Aragorn, but fearing him, while Aragorn is always kindly but maybe condescending at times to a loving father and son relationship where each knows the other is flawed, but likes them the better for it.
I have written in more detail here
http://www.freewebs.com/lindahoyland/backgroundinformation.htm

As well as Tolkien’s work, I have been inspired by everything from Wagner’s “Ring “ Cycle to “The Bible” and “Arthurian legends.

As long as the Muse permits, I hope Aragorn and Faramir as well as their wives and children will have more adventures.

I do hope to write at least one more novel, but intend to concentrate more on short stories in the future. I have, at a guess, around 40 short stories that need polishing that so far have only been shared with the AA Group. I have found “A Time to Reap” has proved less popular than my other novels, so feel short stories are maybe the best thing to mostly concentrate on. I do intend to link some of the stories like in “A Hunting we will Go” to create something more substantial.

All my stories are intended to be seen as one long story unless I state otherwise such as with “Sour Milk” and a handful of drabbles.

A very big thank you to Raksha for all her help with “A Time to Reap” and to everyone who has supported me with your kind comments.

Thank you to everyone who has voted in my polls which are still open for further votes and comments.

I am hoping, all being well, in the future to continue “Healing the Healer” and take Aragorn and Faramir to the coast. Other stories lurking on my hard drive include a fall from a cliff, a return to the lake, new uses for Aragorn’s healing skills and a misunderstanding concerning tubs of lard!

I have just drafted out the final chapter of "A Time to Reap" and sent it to Raksha.

Readers can expect two more chapters before the story ends.

It is an appropriate day as it is harvest at my church!

The story has been over two years in the telling,so I heaved a great sign of relief when I typed "The End".

I'm making the most of the summer with some trips out.

On the way to the seaside,I passed a garage.
Someone had rubbed some letters off a sign and left,

ARAGOR

I Wonder if it was a hooligan Tolkien fan or just conincidence?

I was trying to think what it was meant to be,"Garage Door" maybe? I've no idea.

When I was young and went to town with my Mum,some one removed letters on a sign that should have said- "Mind your head when leaving seat2, so all that was left was "EAVING SEA" !

I have not forgotten " A TIme to Reap" and hope to post Chapter 23 in the near future.

I'm currently posting my Alphabet drabbles (polished and revised)on SOA and my personal site with icons for illustration.

Has anyone a couple of icons of Elrond looking sour I could use for "Evil Elrond"? I'm also looking for a nice one of Galadriel.

Raksha and I are both busy preparing our stories for MEFA, so there will be a delay before I post more of either "A Time to Reap" or "Comes the Moment to decide"

I also know that many of my readers are on holiday or otherwise busy as both my review and hit counts are currently down (At least I hope that is the reason and not that my stories have become too boring to read).

I do naturally intend to finish the stories, barring unforseen catastropes and most of them already exist in draft form, it will just be a week or two before further updates are likely.

I am continuing revising "Burden of Guilt" and might post the occasional drabble or ficlet in the meantime, Muses permitting.

I was amazed to find one of my previous stories (posted mainly during winter months) has had 103346 hits !

Anyone want to guess what my most popular story was? Those were the days !
